Riding in Connection
Riding never starts in the saddle. It starts with the relationship between human and horse.
Riding is about much more than learning a technique. It's an ongoing dialogue between two living beings who experience the world differently, communicate in different ways, and still learn to work together.
Connection Matters More Than the Saddle
A lasting connection begins when you stop focusing solely on what you expect from your horse and start paying attention to your own behavior, attitude, and the impact you have.
My work isn't about teaching traditional riding techniques. It's about developing a relationship built on trust between you and your horse, both on the ground and in the saddle.
What Riding in Connection Means
- Building trust instead of demanding obedience.
- Recognizing and understanding your horse's body language and subtle signals.
- Becoming aware of your own tension and inner attitude, and using that awareness intentionally.
- Providing clear guidance without compromising your horse's independence.
- Seeing misunderstandings and resistance as valuable feedback, not as mistakes your horse is making.
- Learning together and building a relationship that's just as strong on the ground as it is in the saddle.
- Having fun together.
The goal ain't a horse that just obediently goes through the motions. It's a partnership built on mutual understanding, trust, and growing together.
